Sierra Elmore is labeled as “unlikeable” more and more as she grows older, and she wouldn’t have it any other way. Born in Harrisburg, PA, she was surrounded by her mother, grandmothers, and other women who refused to fall in line.
Sierra attends Arcadia University, where she majors in sociology and works as a Career Peer Advisor. This summer, she will begin her career with Citigroup as an HR Analyst.
Sierra, a YoungArts alumni, writes novels about queer Black girls wreaking havoc while fighting trauma. She lives in suburban Philadelphia, where she explores independent bookstores, does Pilates, and discovers new lipstick colors while procrastinating.
